Oh Noes!

Mon Oct 27, 2008, 7:56 AM
Ok, this is probably going to be a really fragmented journal entry... so if you decide to stick with it and read it all... you deserve an award!

So, I'm not really a rich person. I live paycheck to paycheck. I don't own a car, but I do have a scooter. (Major thanks to my sister for that!) I don't normally buy things for myself, so when I do I appreciate what I'm able to get. So there's this one game that I've been looking forward to for about 2 years now for the Playstation 3 called, LittleBigPlanet. It's a really great game about Playing levels made by other people, Creating your own levels, and Sharing those levels for other people to play. Well the original realse date was Oct. 21st, but the game was delayed because of a controversy over one of the songs in the soundtrack of the game. So the game was delayed for 1 week for them to press new discs. I've saved up money to get this game and this game only. There are other's that I'd like to get as well, but I have to pick and choose since my funds are limited. Luckily, the new realease date for LittleBigPlanet is today, Oct. 27th, and I have my fundage in my pocket ready to go!

Last night I had this really weird dream. Someone had taken my scooter and kind of kidnapped me. I was stranded in a town I knew nothing about and I didn't have any way of getting home. It was a very empty feeling to be stuck somewhere strange and to have my only means of transportation taken away from me. I don't really know why they took my scooter except to say that they didn't want me to leave for some strange reason. Later on I ended up getting my scooter back, but the guy who gave it to me made some modifications to it. They basically turned it into my scooter on steriods! It was cool but still weird. After that I led a chase from the people that were trying to keep me in town and I went through many odd environments like construction sites and deserted roads. I'm going to blame some of the weirdness of that dream on a game I've been playing recently called Burnout Paradise. It's a racing game that you can play offline and online and have races against people, or challenges like who can score the most points doing stunts off of ramps and buildings and such. (It's actually a fun game, and if you find the right groups of people with to play online, it's even more fun!)

So this morning I got up, got dressed, and left for work. All was well and I was enjoying my ride there until I was about 6 blocks away from my job. That's when things went wrong... my scooter stalled out on me at a green light! It just refused to do anything at all. After I pulled it off the street, I tried making a few adjustments to both the idle adjustment and the carborator. Now mind you, I'm no mechanic. I've learned a little bit here and there when needed to try and maintain my only mode of transportation. The main problem with it is that it was made by a company who has a bad reputation for making scooters that don't live past 6 months! I've almost had it for 1 year, so I consider myself lucky as it is... but I really don't want to have to go back to riding my bike back and forth to work again! So after about 15-20 mins of fiddling with it, I decided to walk it the rest of the way to work. So I get to work... late... and quite aggrivated. My main concern is no working scooter, but what's also jabbing at me just a little is the money that I have in my pocket for my game now has to go for scooter repairs instead. Honstely, although I do want the game... my ride back and forth to work is more important to me... it just sucks having to lose the money.

So I call my mother to let her know I'm bringing in my scooter for repairs and that I'll need a ride home. She mentions the money issue and I let her know that I have my game money on me. She's heard me talk about this game for the past 6 months or so and was excited for me to get it. So to be nice, she tells me that she'll get it for me and I can just pay her back later. I didn't want her to do it because I know her funds are tight as well, but I guess she wanted to do it to help cheer me up about my scooter. Later on she calls me up and give me a bit of news... the store doesn't have the game... HA! Now that was worth laughing about. I thanked her for trying, but told her not to worry about it because I didn't want her to waste her money anyway.

So when I get out of work, I get my bag and place on the bottom of my scooter where you place your feet. Well as I'm going across the highway, the bag decides to fall out into the middle of the road! Oh... and cars are coming too! So I run the scooter over to the median and place it there and run back across where I came from, grabbing my bag on the way over. Luckily the car that would've hit it swerved around to the next lane so they wouldn't hit it. I don't know who you are sir or madam... But I very truly from the bottom of my heart Thank You!!! Now here's my next problem, I'm on the side of the road, and my scooter is right next to the median... there's tons of traffic on it's way including two Semi's in the lane that my scooter's sitting by. All I could do was prey as they went by that they didn't smash it into tiny bits as they flew by at 55-60MPH. I was lucky... it remained unscathed as all the traffic passed on by. So at my first available moment, I run back over to it and get it across the other side of the highway and walk it to the repair guy. *whew*

The fate of my scooter is still unknown at this time, I left it with the repair guy and he told me to come back later on today to check on it. He unfortunately doesn't have a phone for his business, so I can not call him to get any type of updates. So... I'm hoping that it will be something that isn't too severe and somethings that won't cost more than what I can afford.

Man... I really could use a Kit-Kat bar right about now! :(

What a Morning!!!

Mon May 19, 2008, 9:05 AM
So I woke up this morning and went to work. Nothing special really, just got up and went to work. Well when I got there, someone had called off. Now this is usual practice around here... we usually have at least 1 call off a day. That sounds bad for most other places... but not here. Well because of the call off, the manager had to come in today. It was his day off, but there was no one else there to do the important things like checking e-mails, going on myspace, or listening to music on the computer... so he had to come in. ;)

Now we have this scoop that we use for... well... scooping things. You know, like the two scoops of raisins kind of scoop. Well it's been missing for the past two days. That is... until today. The manager found it hidden inside a wall! Yeah, you heard me right... inside a wall! I guess there's a loose panel on the wall that can be pushed back. Apparently, the guy who put it there was just trying to be an ass and hide it... just because. Well, at least now it can be cleaned off and used again.

So, after finding the scoop... something weird happened..... I woke up! Akkk! You mean, I was dreaming that whole time and none of that even happened?!? That sucks! Now I have to get up and get ready for work all over again! Didn't I just do all this? Must be a glitch in The Matrix. So as I'm getting ready... again... I hear thunder outside. Well that's new... it didn't rain in my dream. Well I take a quick look outside and it's not even really drizzling... it's a light sprinkle. That's cool... I can ride through that. So I hop on my hog and get to riding. And that's when it happened... the sky opened up and let loose a mighty roar! Oh yeah.... RAIN! It hasn't rained like this in ages.... and I guess it's time to make up for lost time. I didn't let it get me down though... if it needs to rain, it needs to rain. It's nothing personal against me, it's just a coincidence. So I get to work... wet... and I clock in.

Inside everything seems normal. No one's called off that I know of, and that panel in the wall isn't loose... so there's no scoop in there. Oh well. Now I turn my attention to the mixer. This thing is taller than me and weighs more than me too. It's huge. So I go to attach my mixing bowl to the mixer when I notice something unusual. The handle that controls the height of the bowl looks out of place. I walk over to it and move it upwards only to find that it's broken. It only has two positions, up and down, and it's always in the down position until you move it to raise or lower the bowl. Well now, it spins in circles. It would be cool if it didn't mean that it was broken. Great! Now how am I supposed to mix anything? So I call the manager who then proceeds to tell me that he knows it's broken and that the repair guy should be coming in to fix it sometime this morning. Bleh... Like no one could call me to let me know not to come in until it's fixed? *sigh* So I ask him what he wants me to do and he says to hang out for a few hours to see if the guy shows up. *sigh again*

So since I can't make anything, what am I going to do here? Well I could just sit on my butt up front and watch the girls make coffee and bagels and junk... but... that wouldn't really be cool. I could just chill in the back and play some cds and wait for the repair guy. Nah... instead I grabbed a scrub brush, a water hose, and a mop and started to scrub the floor! Well... not the whole floor. But there's this one spot under the cutting table that collects a lot of flour and it tends to cake up there, so I thought I'd clean it up. So a scrubbing I went. When I was done with that, I decided to clean off the rack where glazed things go. The glaze tends to build up on that too, so I figured it would be a good time killer. And... it was. After that, I cleaned a few odds and ends... just little things here and there to keep busy. Then I made some muffins. I don't normally make them, but they're not really that hard to make, and it would at least be helpful in some way. Before I knew it, three hours had passed and still no repair guy! Well that's how long I was asked to wait around for, and normally I wouldn't have minded waiting even longer... but... today is my birthday! Of all days, today was supposed to go smoothly, and instead it was an unruly beast of a morning. So I snagged a banana nut muffin, and made tracks! It's not like I was really being that helpful... there was no one in the back for me to chat with... and no one is even going to notice anything that I cleaned anything. Meh... I could've stayed home... stayed sleeping... and dreamed of working like I was already doing!

It's not all bad though. When I got home there was this cool birthday cake waiting for me!

Well... I was going to post pics of the cake here... but it appears that only subscribers can post images in a journal. :( So let's try links instead.

I can't dance...

Sun Mar 30, 2008, 10:09 AM
I can't walk...

The only thing about me is the way I talk...

:D

I like that song. That's Genesis btw... for anyone that reads this but doesn't know. ;)

So anyway, to the point of this journal. I wrote a song! Well, a few songs actually... but that's not actually something new. I've written these songs quite a long while ago. But only people that I know personally have heard them. I did once try to share them with the world, but I guess the world wasn't ready for them. Or... at least... Myspace wasn't ready for them because they took them down! Yeah... my songs were taken down because I was "breaking copyright laws." Now why would a little known nobody like me be accused of such a thing? I'm guessing because someone got on their high horse and decided to take me down before I got a chance to rise to fame and glory!!! Heh... ok... so I'm exaggerating just a little bit. I know there's no fame and glory coming to me by way of my silly songs... but it does bother me that they were taken down.

Ok, so here's the deal. I wrote a few songs that were based on existing songs. So I found some instrumentals to some songs that I liked, and wrote my own lyrics to them. That's all... and the last time I checked, that was called a parody. Or am I wrong in thinking that? There's plenty of artists that do it, the most known to me being Weird Al. He'll take a song and change it into something completely different. Well, that's all I did. And yet Myspace deemed me in the wrong and removed my songs. :(

So, I'm going to give it one more chance. I'm going to try and share my little insignificant lyrical scribblings with the world. Will I be denied? Or will I be embraced for the lyrical genius that I am? ;) Ok... so maybe genius is too strong a word... but come on... I'm a writer... I give the truth scope! (I have a dollar for anyone who can tell me where I got that one from!)

So I have 1 song up on YouTube right now. I don't know if I'll even put up the other songs because I'm not sure if this first one will stay up or not. The few songs that I have are all parodies, which is to say that I'm not talented enough on my own to make my own music, so I write over existing songs instead. :p So... if this one stays up, and is well received... then I may put up a couple more songs.

Here's a link to my first attempt at publicly humiliating myself... Bad Girls by Me!

Small Update

Fri Jan 25, 2008, 1:30 PM
Nothing really big or major to report here... just wanted to update this crazy thing. So I'm putting up a new piece today... that's a good thing. :) It came from an idea I had while making the started model for a new 3D challenge.

Hmmm... I also just recently saw I Am Legend, Cloverfield, and Aliens Vs. Predator Requiem. I will say that out of the 3... I Am Legend was the best of them all. Unfortunately, it was the saddest of them all too... but still the best of them all.

Umm... what else? Oh yeah... I've been playing The Orange Box for the PS3 which has Half Life 2, Half Life 2 Episode 1, Half Life 2 Episode 2, Portal, and Team Fortress 2. Of those, I've beaten Portal. (I should be putting up a model of something I made inspired by Portal soon too.) I've also beaten Half Life 2 and Episode 1 on the PC... but now I'm playing them all over again on the PS3. It's bringing back some good 'ole memories... :D I'm also playing Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii. It's pretty cool... I'd recommend giving it a shot if you have a Wii.

Ok... I guess that's it for now. Time for me to shave the cat... :O_o: hehehe... just kidding...... or am I?

More 3D goodness...

Well after working on The Crow... I was inspired by another great artwork that looked like it would fit the same type of style of that model. So I promptly got to work on it and produced another model and animation.

This one was based on The Sword in the Stone by Disney... and the most excellent colored drawing by Be sure to check out his gallery!
